7 Competitive Home Staging Tips That Will Sell Your Home

7 Competitive Home Staging Tips That Will Sell Your Home

I know what you’re thinking: what if decorating or interior design aren’t your fortes? Don’t worry, you don’t need to create a designer-worthy home before selling it. Just a cozy, comfy atmosphere that appeals to your potential buyers. And our home staging tips are here to help you do just that.

You see, when you decide to sell your home it no longer remains a home. It becomes a product. In every market (especially in real estate), there is a fierce competition between products. Thus, yours needs to stand out from the crowd if you want it to sell for a great price.

7 Home Staging Tips That Will Amaze the Pros

At Pinnacle Property, we have helped hundreds of sellers prepare their homes and get more than fair prices for them. Here are some of the secrets (aka home staging tips) we used to make it happen:

1. Declutter Your Rooms

Decluttering is perhaps the most important home staging tip. Clutter doesn’t just look messy. It also makes rooms look much smaller than they are and completely unwelcoming. Take your time to go through each room. You might want to use the four-box method: trash, give away, keep, or relocate. This will also help you be better prepared for the move and make transportation, packing and unpacking at your new address much easier.

2. Focus on Details

Buyers always look for something that stands out in a room. You know, that single object that makes the whole room come together. It might be a piece of art or a vase with blue wildflowers. It might even be a cozy blanket left on a chair by the window.

3. Rearrange the Furniture

Placing furniture along the walls makes the room look bigger. However, if you go overboard with this, you may end up making the room feel empty and unwelcoming. Ideally, you should have the furniture create the impression of a room where everything is possible. Small groups of furniture put together (chairs and a table or a couch and a coffee) seem inviting to conversations and reminiscing with old friends. This is what you should be going for.

4. Make the Room Look Just the Right Size

Poor home staging can make a room look smaller if too much furniture or too many decorations are used. In this case, there’s a simple trick you can use: placing mirrors on the walls always gives the impression of more space.

Similarly, if you use just a few pieces of furniture, the room will look unfinished and cold. A cozy armchair can fix that immediately.

5. Accessorize Your Home

Wall accessories like mirrors, art paintings or even drapes might be all your need to help your house stand out from the crowd. Again, moderation is key. Too many accessories will make your home look like a bazaar. Also, try to choose quality accessories in pale colors. Some ideas include:

  • Mirrors
  • Plants
  • Silk flowers
  • Floor & table lamps
  • Area and throw rugs
  • Ottomans
  • Afghans
  • Pillows
  • Weaved baskets

6. Bring the Outdoors Inside

Bring greenery and house plants to the corner of a room to create a serene atmosphere. In the balcony, for instance, you may want to couple the wooden chairs with a touch of green. Fill the vases with flowers from the garden. Arrange the wall paintings in a pattern similar to a tree or to waves.

7. Make the Rooms Look Airy and Open

Making a room look perfect is not the easiest of jobs, since what looks good to you may not impress the buyer. Drapes are an important addition to a room, as they set its atmosphere. Paint walls the same color as the drapes or use complementary tones. Use eco-friendly materials to cut out outdated items in a room. Don’t overcrowd a room with furniture that is too large. Move some items around if needed.

The best thing about these home staging tips is that they cost very little or nothing at all. All you need to make an impression is a little bit of creativity. If you’re looking for more tips on how to sell your Montana home like a pro, check out this article.

I just wanted to thank you for these tips to help sell a home. It’s good to know that just by simply rearranging the furniture can help the room look bigger if it’s placed near the wall. Maybe it could be good to try out different options of this to find an arrangement that is inviting and nice. http://www.eracaputo.com/Pages/FranklinSquare.aspx
