2018 Montana Real Estate Market Trends, Fun Events and More!
There’s no better time than the beginning of the year to take a critical look at the year we just left behind and a hopeful one at what’s coming next. For us here at Pinnacle Property, there are two things on our mind: the 2018 Montana real estate market trends and the community events.
Well, real estate is not just our job, but also our passion. Most importantly, because in the Big Sky State there’s nothing more important than community.
So join us in welcoming 2018 as we know best: hopeful, informed and among friends and family!
2018 Montana Real Estate Trends that Are Bound to Affect You
Whether you plan to buy, sell or rent in 2018, you need to know what to expect. We see a lot of changes in the market and we expect 2018 to be a milestone year for the Montana real estate landscape.
Zillow predicts that the home prices in Montana will increase by an average of 2.6% in 2018. This is perfectly normal given that home prices in our state have been continuously rising in the past few years. We are a non-disclosure state which really means Zillow does not have good data in Montana, but they are trying! Work with an agent to keep the Zestimates correct.
Nationwide, there seems to be an inventory crisis. Briefly put, this means that very few people choose to sell their home because they fear they won’t be able to afford or even find a better one.
Couple this with builders focusing on entry-level homes to cater to Millennial buyers and we can easily draw conclusions about what’s bound to happen with Montana prices this year. Since large homes are an all-time favorite throughout the state, we expect to see a price increase in them. Perhaps even well above the 2.6% average predicted by Zillow.
In conclusion, the overall 2018 Montana real estate market trends tells us that this year is shaping up to be a seller’s market. As a buyer, it will be hard to find the home of your dreams. And if that home is one the market and you can find it, then you will have to pay asking price lest someone comes with a better offer.
In other words, if you are planning to buy a new home in Montana this year, do it as fast as possible.
Community Events in Montana
As you know, we’re big fans of events that bring our community together through education, craftsmanship and even good, ol’ fun. We took a look at what February has in store for us and found quite a few gems not just for 2018 Montana real estate market trends but for community events as well!
Take a look below and meet us there:
1. ArtWalk Downtown Billings
If you’re serious about supporting the local artists’ community, then this is an event you shouldn’t miss. ArtWalk is already in its 23rd season!
On February 2nd, all the galleries, studios and museums in downtown Billings will open their doors to the public. You’ll get a chance to discover new local artists, talk to them and even buy your favorite pieces.
2. A Jazzy Valentine’s Day
The Moav Coffee House in Billings celebrates Valentine’s Day with the help of The Alex Nauman Trio. If you love jazz music, make sure to reserve your place here before it’s too late. More good news: beer and wine are included in the price of the ticket.
3. Nature Nuts Tour
We have yet to meet a Montana resident who isn’t mad about nature. There is no other way when you live in the Big Sky State!
And, since kids are bound to love our amazing nature, too, why not treat them to a family day outdoor. Children between 18 months and for years (along with accompanying adults) have the amazing chance to take guided tours with Montana Audubon teacher naturalists. Included in the program: fun, play and learning about nature.
Which event do you plan to attend? Let us know in the comment section below!
Last, but not least, we’d like to urge you not to be too worried about the 2018 Montana real estate market trends. Whether you plan to sell or buy a home, everything is possible if you have the right real estate agent in your corner, irrespective of market conditions.
